Course overview
Not everyone can attend regular classes- Flexible Learning
means you can study at times and locations to suit you. More and more people are
choosing to study on a Flexible Learning course to improve their general
employability skills. The courses can be offered in a venue within the community
and built around your training requirements. All our tutors are specialists in
their vocational area and offer exceptionally high quality one-to-one support.
Whatever your background or experience, we believe there will be a programme of
interest to you.
Funding eligibility criteria:
- Candidate must be aged 19 or over on 31 August of current year
- Candidates aged 19-23 must already hold a Full Level 2 Qualification
- Candidates must have resided in the EU for the past three years
Course requirements
Learners must have a genuine interest in their chosen subject. This qualification is aimed at anyone working in a health or social care environment, particularly those who support, or have contact with, older people who have an increased propensity to falls. It will also be useful to individuals who support family members or friends who are at risk of falling.
Learners do not have to be in employment to enrol on this course.
What will I do?
You will be required to complete two modules of study. The course will cover Module A Unit 1 Falls in context. Unit 2 The risk factors and causes of falls. Module B Unit 3 Falls assessment and prevention. Unit 4 Managing falls.
Learners are required to complete assessments that are based upon the information and activities within the learning materials provided. There is no end test or multiple-choice exam for this course
What will it give me?
You will gain a thorough understanding of the common causes of falls and the risk factors, both personal and environmental, that increase the likelihood of falls. You will also learn about numerous interventions that they and/or care organisations can take to prevent falls. It will also provide you with the knowledge to support people who are at risk of falling. On successful completion of the course, a Level 2 certificate will be awarded. A nationally recognised awarding body accredits the course.
