Course overview

Not everyone can attend regular classes -Flexible Learning means you can study at times and locations to suit you. More and more people are choosing to study on a Flexible Learning course to improve their general employability skills.

The courses can be offered in a venue within the community and built around your training requirements. All our tutors are specialists in their vocational area and offer exceptionally high quality one-to-one support. Whatever your background or experience, we believe there will be a programme of interest to you.

Funding eligibility criteria:

  • Candidate must be aged 19 or over on 31 August of current year
  • Candidates aged 19-23 must already hold a Full L2 Qualification
  • Candidates must have resided in the EU for the past 3 years

Course requirements

Learners must have a genuine interest in their chosen subject.

This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to develop their understanding of how to deal with challenging behaviour, especially those who work in an educational setting or within health and social care. Learners do not have to be in employment to enrol on this course.

What will I do?

You will be required to complete 2 modules of study. The course will cover Module A Unit 1 Understand behaviour that challenges. Unit 2 Understand how to support positive behaviour. Module B Unit 3 Understand the importance of effective communication and the management of behaviour that challenges. Unit 4 Understand the role of reflection and support for those involved in incidents of behaviour that challenges.

Learners are required to complete assessments that are based upon the information and activities within the learning materials provided. There is no end test or multiple choice exam for this course

What will it give me?

You will gain a thorough understanding of the common causes and triggers of behaviour that challenges. You will also learn about effective communication skills and de-escalation techniques. Knowing how to anticipate behaviour that others may find challenging and how to respond to these situations appropriately can help create a more harmonious living or working environment.

On successful completion of the course, a Level 2 certificate will be awarded. A nationally recognised awarding body accredits the course.
