Course overview

Not everyone can attend regular classes. Flexible Learning means you can study at times and locations to suit you. More and more people are choosing to study on a Flexible Learning course to improve their general employability skills. The courses can be offered in a venue within the community and built around your training requirements. Funding eligibility criteria:

· Candidate must be aged 19 or over on 31 August of current year

· Candidates aged 19-23 must already hold a Full Level 2 Qualification

· Candidates must have resided in the EU for the past three years

Course requirements

Learners must have a genuine interest in their chosen subject. This course is designed for learners who wish to understand more about the impact of adverse circumstances on the lives of children and young people and will be highly valuable to people who support those affected, providing an insight in how to strengthen their resilience and empower them to overcome the challenges they face. Learners do not have to be in employment to enrol on this course.

What will I do?

You will be required to complete one module covering three units of study. These are: Exploring childhood and family structures; Introduction to adverse childhood experiences; Understand strategies to improve outcomes for children affected by adverse childhood experiences. Learners are required to complete assessments that are based upon the information and activities within the learning materials provided. There is no end test or multiple choice exam for this course.

What will it give me?

By following this programme, learners will be able to develop their knowledge and understanding of adverse childhood experiences and how they can impact on children’s future holistic health, development, education and well-being. On successful completion of the course a Level 2 certificate will be awarded. The course is accredited by a nationally recognised awarding body.
