Course overview

Not everyone can attend regular classes -Flexible Learning means you can study at times and locations to suit you. More and more people are choosing to study on a Flexible Learning course to improve their general employability skills. The courses can be offered in a venue within the community and built around your training requirements. Funding eligibility criteria:

• Candidate must be aged 19 or over on August this year

• Candidates aged 19-23 must already hold a Full L2 Qualification

• Candidates must have resided in the EU for the past 3 years

Course requirements

Learners must have a genuine interest in their chosen subject. This qualification is designed for learners who want to increase their knowledge and understanding of supporting adults living with cancer. It could be used as a continuous professional development (CPD) qualification for learners already working within the health care and social care sectors or for individuals providing informal care

What will I do?

You will be required to complete 4 units of study. The course will cover. Unit 1 Cancer awareness Unit 2 Introduction to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer Unit 3 Introduction to cancer care and support Unit 4 Introduction to end of life and bereavement care. Learners are required to complete assessments that are based upon the information and activities within the learning materials provided. There is no end test or multiple-choice exam for this course.

What will it give me?

The purpose of the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Cancer Support is to give learners knowledge to support their work within the adult health and social care sectors, particularly those wanting to specialise in the area or develop employment/progression opportunities. It may also be useful for those providing informal care to those living with cancer. On successful completion of the course, a Level 2 certificate will be awarded. A nationally recognised awarding body accredits the course
