Course overview

If you want to increase your chances of gaining employment, progress within your current career or update your skills, then this courses will be beneficial to you. Maths and English courses range from Level 1 to Level 2.

Course requirements

You would not need any formal qualifications. You would need to undertake an initial and diagnostic assessment to determine your current level and skills

What will I do?

•Attend classroom learning sessions covering an appropriate range of topics to develop your English skills
•Use a blend of innovative and interactive paper and online resources to support your individual needs
•Practice exam style questions and tasks
•Undertake 3 exams: Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing (all 3 are required to achieve the full qualification)

What will it give me?

A recognised accredited Functional Skills 2 English qualification.

Materials needed

You will need basic stationery items (pens, pencils, highlighters, file etc.).

What can I do when I finish?

Progress to the next level in either Functional Skills maths or English, take the step to undertake a GCSE or use these qualifications to help you to gain a place on a range of vocational qualifications.
