Course overview

This qualification is aimed at students aged 16 and above who have recently entered into the construction industry.

This qualification is also suitable for tradespeople who desire to develop or improve their knowledge of retrofit in the construction industry.

It is also for those without retrofit experience (electricians, joiners, plumbers, plasterers, bricklayers etc) who may wish to work in the related field of retrofit professional roles such as a retrofit assessor.

Course requirements

Level 2 Retrofit qualifications do not need any pre-entry requirements.

What will I do?

Students will be introduced to the scope and opportunities offered within the construction industry for those working on retrofit.

Students will also develop knowledge of the requirements of the roles involved in retrofit. This will include specific responsibilities in retrofit.

Students will develop their knowledge of retrofit in practice (PAS 2035) and how these impact on the installation and preparation for a property retrofit system.

What will it give me?

This award will enable students to develop basic awareness of the retrofit industry and it can be a starting point for a career progression into retrofit where students can further develop into professional roles or as installers, assessors, advisors, co-ordinators, evaluators and designers.

Materials needed

Stationery, steel toe cap safety boots.

What can I do when I finish?

Progression onto Level 3 Retrofit Advisor and employment.
