Course overview
CG Painting & Decorating Level 2 will extend your skill base to enable you to progress onto an Apprenticeship and other employment. You will learn and practice the skills needed to be successful in your career, whether this is working for an employer or working for yourself running your own business. This full time course is taught over three days per week for one year and includes maths and English. The course consists of eight unit tests and practical assessments.

Course requirements
Minimum 4 GCSE’s at grades 3 - 2 (D - E) or equivalent, including a D in Maths and English, or a Level 1 qualification in a relevant subject area.
What will I do?
The CG Painting & Decorating Level 2 will prepare you to further your skills into the field of painting and decorating by studying health, safety and welfare in construction, principles of building construction, information and communication, preparing surfaces for decoration, applying paint systems to complex areas, applying standard papers to walls and ceilings, producing specialist finishes for decorative work, erecting and dismantling access equipment and working platforms and creating and applying colour.
What will it give me?
The course will prepare you for further learning or training and will develop your knowledge and skills in your subject area.
Materials needed
You will need safety footwear and white overalls which you can purchase from the College.
What can I do when I finish?
If you gain suitable grades you may want to progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Painting & Decorating course or a paid Apprenticeship at Level 2 or 3.
