The Early Years Educator Qualification is the must have qualification. It is for all those wanting to work with children from birth to five years of age. This CACHE level 3 diploma will show that you have been trained to the highest standards.
Minimum 4 GCSE’s at grades 9 - 4 (A* - C) or equivalent, including a C or above in Maths and English, or a Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject area. A clear criminal record check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
What will I do?
A two year course, the content of which is divided into four themes-1) Health & well-being, 2) Legislation, Frameworks & Professional Practice, 3) Play, Development & Learning for school readiness, 4) Professional Development. Work experience includes a minimum of 730 placement hours (2 days a week). Assessment of skill competency will take place in the real working environment across three different age ranges 0-5 years old.
What will it give me?
This EYE qualification will provide you with a licence to practise and the status of being an Early years Educator. It will also give you a Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education & Care.
A college T-Shirt to be worn in work placement. A CACHE Diploma Level 3 text book.
What can I do when I finish?
Progression internally: a foundation degree levels 4 and 5 depending upon achievement, attendance and motivation. Progression to university: higher education depending on grades and UCAS points. Employment opportunities: child and family centres; community nursery; nursery supervisor; day nurseries; and hospital nurseries. Child-minding, nanny work, a children’s play supervisor for a holiday company. Early Years Educators may also work in primary schools to support the work of teachers. Support special needs assistant. Crèche leader, playgroup leader, pre-school leader, out of school clubs, toy library leader.
