Course overview

The Level 2 Certificate in Performance Skills has been devised as an introduction to the performance area.
You will need to have had some performance experience at school or at external venues. You will need to have a passion about performance and have a stage presence.

Course requirements

Minimum 4 GCSE’s at grades 3 - 2 (D - E) or equivalent, including a D in Maths and English, or a Level 1 qualification in a relevant subject area.

A short audition will take place to ascertain suitability for the course and level.

What will I do?

As part of the Level 2 Certificate in Performance Skills you will take part in various performances throughout the year.

Units include:

  • Developing technique for performance
  • Rehearsing and performing
  • Performing arts production process
  • Working in the performing arts industry

As well as the performance side there is written assignments and tasks to complete.
The course is three days (extra days and evenings around the performance times) where you will be studying your main qualification, exercise classes, maths and English at GCSE level (only if you do not have an A-C Grade).

What will it give me?

A Level 2 Certificate in Performance Skills.

Materials needed

Black dance shoes, black exercise wear, hand towel and basic stationery items.

What can I do when I finish?

If you have successful complete this course with good grades and attendance you will be interviewed for the Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts.
