Course overview
Now in its fifth successful year at Bishop Auckland College, this contemporary and innovative higher education programme enables students to gain both an academic and professional qualification in counselling. This qualification is validated by The Open University.

This programme is taught on a face to face basis. It is taught over three years on the full time degree option.
There is no annual increase in price. No additional costs will be incurred where possible, with appropriate notice and option provided when and if, confirmed. Additional information is available here. A copy of the Fee Policy is available on request.
Course requirements
Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills or equivalent qualification. Students who have already achieved a Foundation Degree in Counselling (with 100 hours of evidenced practice) can apply to do the third year of the degree.
What will I do?
Level Four Modules: Philosophy of Integrative Practice, Cognitive Behaviour Interventions, Humanistic Approaches, Ethical & Professional Issues in Counselling, Self-Awareness and Personal Development, Integrative Skills Practice.
Level Five Modules: Introduction to Research, Developments in Counselling, Contemporary Issues in Counselling, Self-Awareness & Personal Development 2, Integrative Counselling Practice and Supervision.
Level Six Modules: Research Project, Self-Awareness & Reflective Practitioner, Evolution of Counselling, Enhancing Therapeutic Practice.
What will it give me?
A BA (Hons) Integrative Counselling Practice.
What can I do when I finish?
Go on to do a MA in Counselling and/or specialist training, seek employment within the counselling profession or set up in private practice.
