Course overview
This intermediate level course further explores the catering and hospitality industry, giving you an insight into current and future trends. You will learn preparation and cooking methods for traditional and modern dishes and will cook high quality dishes and will work as part of a team providing and serving in the College Ambition Restaurant.

Course requirements
• 4 GCSEs at grades D-E including maths and English.
• Alternative/equivalent qualifications and experience will be considered.
• An interview and short assessment will assess your suitability and interest in the subject
What will I do?
This qualification gives knowledge and skills for the Catering Industry.
What will it give me?
This programme will give you a firm grounding in Hospitality and Catering enabling you to experience working in the busy kitchens. Also working in the College restaurant will prepare you for employment in the sector or progression to a higher level course.
Materials needed
Before commencing the course you will be required to purchase uniform for both the kitchen and restaurant. Course text books are available at discounted rates from the College. Assistance with this may be available.
What can I do when I finish?
If you gain suitable grades you may progress to the Level 3 Catering and Hospitality programme.
