The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts is a one year course, which has been designed for a wide range of learners, who are interested in improving their skills and understanding of the performing arts industry.

Minimum 4 GCSE’s at grades 9 - 4 (A* - C) or equivalent, including a C or above in Maths and English, or a Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject area.
A short audition will take place to ascertain suitability for the course and level.
What will I do?
Learners will study the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts over one year. It has been designed for a wide range of learners, who are interested in improving their skills and understanding of the performing arts industry. The course is three days per week. (Also, undertake maths and English if you do not have an A-C or 9-5 grade) Each learner will produce a portfolio of evidence consisting of a variety of assessed pieces of work, which could include assignments and internal and external projects. There are also pre-set externally marked and assessed tasks from the awarding body.
Units include performance workshop, performing arts business, historical
context of performance, rehearsing for performance, performing to an audience,
plus optional units.
What will it give me?
Learners will be studying towards a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts
Practical kit including dance shoes and a college hoodie, along with basic stationery items.
What can I do when I finish?
This qualification can help to progress learners to the higher level courses, such as the HND in Performing Arts at Bishop Auckland College or a university degree or into employment.
