Course overview

The L3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts is a one-year course, which has been designed for a wide range of learners, who are interested in improving their skills and understanding of the Performing Arts industry.

Course requirements

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 years and over.

Three GCSE’s A-C / 9-5 and a level 3 Diploma or 90 Credit Diploma in Performing Arts. Learners must have a genuine interest in all aspects of performing arts.

What will I do?

Learners will study the L3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts over 1 year. It has been designed for a wide range of learners, who are interested in improving their skills and understanding of the Performing Arts industry.3 days per week. (Also, undertake maths and english if you do not have an A-C or 9-5 grade) Each learner will produce a portfolio of evidence consisting of a variety of assessed pieces of work, which could include assignments and internal and external projects. There are also pre-set externally marked and assessed tasks from the awarding body.

What will it give me?

Learners will be studying towards a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts

Materials needed

Practical kit including dance shoes and a college hoodie. Along with basic stationery items (pens, pencils, lined paper, file, etc.)

What can I do when I finish?

This qualification can help to progress learners to the higher-level courses, such as the HND in Performing Arts at Bishop Auckland College or a university degree or into employment.
