Course overview

This qualification is designed to extend learners skills in craft and textiles to an advanced level.

It’ll improve learners

creative and intellectual ability in communication, innovation and critical evaluation of their own work in the classroom.

This qualification will focus on the study of creative crafts, offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge and provide opportunities to acquire a number of practical and technical skills in fashion and textiles.

Course requirements

This course is for 19+ adult students and has no entry requirements. Use of a sewing machine and a love of fabric / textiles would be an advantage.

(This course is not offered to pr-19 students, they would need to enrol onto the T Levels programme).

What will I do?

The course is a Tuesday and Wednesday from 9.00 to 4.15. Bespoke timetables could be considered to support child care etc.

The course supports students to extend their skills in craft to an advanced level, extend creative and intellectual abilities e.g. communication, innovation and critical evaluation. As well as extending awareness and understanding of health and safety issues.

This course also provides a basis for progression onto further study or employment. It also carries UCAS points.

What will it give me?

A Level 3 qualification to progress into employment or Higher Education studies.

Materials needed

Stationery, Level Arch file etc. Some materials will be included, there may be a cost to the individual student if they prefer to use a certain type of textile / material.
