Employee Services & Payroll Assistant, Advance Learning Partnership at Whitworth Park Academy, Spennymoor

Emily began her career journey into the world of Human Resources as a Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice with Bishop Auckland College and Advance Learning Partnership Trust in September 2022. Emily was delighted to achieve an amazing Distinction grade in her End Point Assessment and has been offered a full-time permanent role as an Employee Services and Payroll Assistant!

Emily said “I initially completed A Levels in History, Law and Politics but soon recognised that I was a very practical ‘hands on’ student. I saw the business apprenticeship vacancy advertised through Bishop Auckland College and decided to apply as I was keen to earn and learn at the same time. I was delighted to be offered the apprenticeship which was full-time on the job. I can’t thank my colleagues enough at Whitworth Park Academy and my assessor at College, as I have learnt so many skills and gained so much knowledge on my apprenticeship journey which I have applied to my work. I have just completed my apprenticeship with a Distinction grade and I am absolutely delighted to have been offered a full-time permanent position within the Trust! I love my new role which is very important as I prepare and process payrolls for employees within the Trust who provide amazing education to our children in school. Whilst undertaking my apprenticeship, the Student Progression team provided me with regular careers support relating to my career progression in the business sector offering inspiration around new skills, continuous professional development, management and higher education, and I am looking forward to the future ahead in my new career with the Advance Learning Partnership Trust.”
