BSc (Hons) Esports Event Management Student, University of Sunderland

Flora began her journey into the world of competitive gaming at Bishop Auckland College, studying a Level 3 Diploma in Esports and gaining an amazing overall Distinction*. With the support of the Student Progression team in completing the process of applying to university, Flora was delighted to be offered a place on the BSc (Hons) Esports Event Management degree at the University of Sunderland.

Flora said “I loved my Esports course at Bishop Auckland College. The course provided me with the skills and knowledge to progress to university in the next step to pursue my dream career of mobile gaming in China. Whilst at College, digital marketing strategies and live streaming for esports particularly interested me and I also learnt how to effectively use streaming platforms such as Twitch, YouTube and Mixer to broadcast tournaments. My College course provided me with the opportunity to learn the terminology, business and marketing aspects and gain transferable skills. The Student Progression team were fantastic. They helped me to explore my higher education options and supported me with the UCAS process including completion of my personal statement, application form and student finance. I am looking forward to studying the production and management of esports events at Sunderland and developing my understanding of the technologies involved in organising events. In addition to studying my degree, I am also very excited to become a member of the University Esports Society, hosting a monthly charity gaming event which will enhance my CV but is also so much fun!”
