Jack

Jack began his career journey at Bishop Auckland College studying a Level 3 Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services, achieving an amazing overall Distinction* grade. Upon completion of his studies, Jack applied to the police force with Durham Constabulary and has now attended his attestation as a new recruit! This formal declaration performed in front of a magistrate, receiving his warrant card and officially sworn in to protect the residents of County Durham and Darlington is just the beginning of Jack’s career journey as he now undertakes 18 weeks of training before joining the beat!

Jack said “From a young age my dream was always to join the police force. I am delighted to have progressed through the stages to become a new police officer with Durham Constabulary. The course was invaluable for my career and I would not be here without my fantastic tutor who really inspired me to pursue my dream. Excellent study modules such as conflict management and personal protection, leadership skills and equality, diversity and inclusion fully prepared me for my future career, combined with amazing opportunities including work placement, volunteering, industry visits and discussions with guest speakers in the policing sector. During my course, I received regular support from the Student Progression team who supported me with mock interviews and my overall career planning so I felt confident with the recruitment process. It was a very proud moment for me making my declaration to serve and protect our people and communities and I am very excited to embark on my new policing career. My goal is to make a difference in our community by making them safer and more resilient to crime and anti-social behaviour. I believe that if you work hard, have commitment and determination, you can achieve anything!”

100% attendance + hard work + determination = Distinction* and job!
