Talented nail technician Charlotte Vizor has designs on a teaching career after completing her latest course at Bishop Auckland College.

The 28-year-old, who has just been nominated as Nail Technician of The Year in the Social Media Hair and Beauty Awards, is also becoming something of a celebrity, being interviewed recently in industry publication Scratch Magazine.

She is currently combining studying for a teacher training qualification at the college with her mobile nail technician business Nailed It By Chaz.

Charlotte, from Bishop Auckland, said: “I have a vast range of clients, ranging in age from 16 to 75+, and each has their own style and preferences. This allows me to keep my work up to date in many different aspects; my clients are great for sending me new ideas that I might not have seen before but that I can always make my own and make personal to each and every one of them. 

“In nails there is no such thing as an unusual request; nails are a way to express your art and your personality, therefore we can draw inspiration from anything and everything around us. 

“My career goal at the minute is to become a fully qualified teacher and teach all aspects of nails, from foundation skills to more advanced techniques and ways to provide better services to our clients. 

“Whether I do this within a college environment, or in a training academy of my very own is yet to be decided, who knows what the future will hold. My business is growing so it’s wonderful to be able to keep my clients alongside my teaching journey - they are very supportive of my aspirations and always encourage me to do more and to go further.”

Charlotte previously studied Level 2 and 3 in Nail Technology, coming first for commercial nail art in the Inter-Colleges Hair and Beauty Competition when representing Bishop Auckland College. She has also exhibited at the Beauty UK national trade fair at Birmingham’s NEC.
