Located on the Atlantic coast, Lisbon is the westernmost capital of continental Europe and the cultural, educational, business and tourist centre of Portugal.

Like Rome, Lisbon spreads over seven hills and is divided into two parts by the Rio Tejo. The bridges ‘Ponte 25 de Abril’ and ‘Vasco da Gama’ connect two coasts.

Almada is a city and a municipality located on the southern margin of the Tagus River, on the opposite side of the river from Lisbon. The two cities are connected by the 25 de Abril Bridge.
