Covid-19: Local lockdown restrictions

An update concerning local lockdown restrictions from 18th September 2020.

Following the announcement of local lockdown restrictions in County Durham by the Health Secretary, we recognise that students may have questions about whether there are any changes to their education at Bishop Auckland College.

While restrictions have come into place, there are no additional limitations on schools or colleges. As a result, we intend to continue with our current curriculum delivery method, which includes a mixture of socially distanced on-site teaching and online classes. Should this position change, all students will be informed in advance.

We continue to follow all Government guidelines on campus, including 2 metre social distancing whenever possible, compulsory face coverings in communal areas, one-way systems throughout the building and limited class sizes.

Students should contact their Student Progress Mentor or tutor to discuss any changes to their circumstances caused by the announced lockdown measures.

We will continue to provide regular updates as circumstances change.
