Chloe Murphy
Early Years Practitioner, Child’s Play Nursery, Ferryhill
Chloe joined Bishop Auckland College to study Level 3 Early Years with a career goal of working with young children. Whilst on the course, Chloe completed a number of practical work placements in a nursery and school which provided her with key knowledge and skills to prepare her for employment in the early years sector. Following her two-year programme at College, and with the support of the Student Progression team, Chloe has successfully gained employment as a full-time Early Years Practitioner at Child’s Play Private Day Nursery in Ferryhill.
Chloe said “The College really believed in me from day one. Staff at the College are very friendly, supportive and there to help you achieve your goals. The course has given me confidence, when I had none, to achieve my dream of working with children. I had regular career meetings with the Student Progression team which developed my employability skills. This included support with application forms, personal statements and interview skills. I love my role at the nursery and I would like to continue my studies in higher education whilst I work, to develop my skills further.”
Katrina, Deputy Manager said “When Chloe first started at the nursery she was very shy but now her confidence has grown so much! Chloe is an absolute pleasure to have working in our nursery team.”
