I chose this course to build on my existing skills and knowledge in the business sector. The course uses real world examples that have given me insight into how different types of businesses work. I plan to ‘top up’ my HND at university for a full degree in Business.

What courses could I study?

We have a course at BAC regardless of your previous experience of Business. If you have studied it at GCSE level, you might be able to go directly onto our Level 3 A-Level equivalent course! If not, we have other courses designed to build up your skills first. 4

What facilities would I have access to?

As a Business student at Bishop Auckland College you would have access to our range of IT suites to develop your skills. Our expert staff will also lend you their years of experience as you begin to think about a successful career or enterprise idea in the sector.

What trips could I go on?

Crafters Companion

Students will visit local business environments to see 'behind the scenes' of how successful businesses operate. This includes shopping centres, cinemas and locally-based business Crafter’s Companion at Newton Aycliffe (owned by entrepreneur and Dragon’s Den panel member Sara Davies).

Students will be given the option to network with local businesses through a range of volunteering and work experience events.

They will also listen to guest speakers from local business including self-employed entrepreneurs who have started their business from scratch who come to share their experiences.
