If your dream is to become a performer, DJ, music producer, sound engineer or any aspect of the music industry then the Extended Diploma in Music Level 3 is the place to start. You will learn and practice all the skills you need to be successful in your career.

Whether this is to develop your work as an independent artist, progress to university or work in the Music Industry. The opportunities are endless.

Course requirements

Minimum 4 GCSE’s at grades 9 - 4 (A* - C) or equivalent, including a C or above in Maths and English, or a Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject area.

What will I do?

The Extended Diploma in Music Level 3 is taught over three to four days per week for one to two years. This course includes maths, English and work experience.

You will study a mix of performance and technology subjects.

This will enable you to improve your knowledge of the music business, your musical performance skills and your recording technology abilities.

What will it give me?

This course will give you the confidence and hone your skills to either seek employment or move into Higher Education. It will also give you a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music.

Materials needed

Musicians preferably should have their own instrument for personal and bank rehearsals both at home and in college.

What can I do when I finish?

If you gain suitable grades you may progress to higher education at your chosen university or an HND in Music within Bishop Auckland College.
