Pastoral & Learning Mentor

Bishop Auckland College is seeking to recruit a Pastoral and Learning Mentor who will be responsible for supporting the students’ personal, social and educational needs, supporting the teachers in the classroom and general alternative provision environment and contributing to the overall ethos, work and aims of the department.

As a Pastoral and Learning Mentor, you will be responsible for understanding students’ individual needs, to ensure that they remain engaged throughout their learning experience.

The successful candidate will be required to possess CACHE L3 Teaching Assistant/ PTLLS or equivalent Level 3 qualification in supporting in the classroom (or willing to work towards within a year) and Team Teach trained (or willing to gain within a specified period of time). It is desirable that the candidate also possess an IT qualification, Level 2 Equality & Diversity, Level 3 Adult Subject Support and Relevant vocational qualification.
